Poker Bankroll Challenge $50 to $10 000 Day #2

Day 2 poker bankroll challenge

Poker Bankroll Challenge Day 2 Review

For the 2nd day that I played on Pokerstars for the poker bankroll challenge I ended up making a profit of $4.30, making the bankroll hit $60.

I played 609 hands on 4 NL2 tables for a little bit more then 2 hours.

There were some intereseting hands that I played and some poker hands I need to review.

Review of poker hand #1 top pair top kicker vs all in shove on the flop

This hand started with me raising utg with AJs which is ok and what I should raise with, villain 1 and villain 2 calls.

Villain 1 hands is 56/34 with over 400 hands. He is definately a fish. The flop comes 7s Jh 9h.

Villain 1 shoves all in with his remaining 77 big blinds, villain 2 gets out of the way and folds.

What should I do when I have top pair top kicker? I decided to call hoping that he has a flushdraw. In this hand he did have J9o so he had top two pair and won the hand.

Overshoving all in on the flop

I had a look in equilab and if I put him on anyflushdraw with a reasonable hand or a set with 77 or 99 or even T8, he get’s about 49% equity and I also get about 50% equity.

According to the odds I needed to have 45% to call this, which I actually did in this case. However I didn’t realize that vs his range it would basically be a coin flip. Therefore I think I should have folded and should have had a stronger hand with at least 2 pair.

What are your thoughts on this hand? What would you have done?

Equilab, equity coinflip.
